Make your own foot products

Foot, i can't say foot without thinking of football and the 8-2 of Sunday grrhhhhh. 8 -2! Manchester i dearly hate you!! Anyway!
Isn't feet a strange member of a beautiful human being body. I hate my feet. It's like they don't belong to me. Sometimes i look at them and i'm horrified that they actually are my real feet. I think that's a joke from my creator, like a faulty manufacturing. The first thing i do with a new baby born is to lift the duvet and check the feet. I almost passed out when i saw my sister's little feeties. As a kid it was so strange but now her's are much better. i always check for potential boyfriend's feet so that if it works out the child will get his feet, let this genetic curse die with me please God please!
Ahhhhh that's why i love shoes so much aahhhh! ahhh that's why i prefer winter to summer ahhhh! <:-O ok let's stop the palabres and nail it! Another of my lousy lines sorry :-/ If you are like me and spend 6 days a week driving all over the place bare foot, you will find that your heels tend to have hard skin. So if you want to make your man happy under the duvet you better sort that out unless you wanna wake up in the middle of the night to a ''what the fuck was that'' when your feet accidentally touch him.

C'est le pied

So you want to make them soft with these simple steps
Dilute 2 spoons of cornflour (it will help soften the skin) in a basin of warm water and soak your feet in them for 10 mins. You can also add a few drops of peppermint or spearmint essential oils for a refreshing feeling if you feel tired.
If the skin is really hard, use a pumice stone to remove the hard skin. You will often find that there are little flaky skin so scrub'em with the salt scrub recipe ( my first post)

The nails is gonna be the same tips as for the 2nd post
But one thing though, i see lots of girls with long, pointed or rounded toe nails. Careful girls, the Day you're gonna bump into something that's going to REALLY hurt! I broke a tiny tiny bit of my nail once and it took so long to fully recover and that was not even the whole nail, Just a tiny bit. The Mavala, nail hardener helped a lot there, great product. Plus if you want to avoid dis gracious and extremely painful ingrown toe nails, you should always file them square! The only time you should have them pointed is when you have a bruise in the nail bed. This way it will help avoid infection. But other than that always square. It looks so nice if you go with a dark color with nicely groomed short, glossy toe nails. All square, same length. Guys if you are watching this, studies shows that 99% of girls have men foot fetish ( the studies were carried out by Doctor Kitty Philips PHD master in super sexy feet school of technology of feet)

Cheesy feet
Talking about Guys and feet. If you tend to have smelly feet ( sorry there was no delicate way to say that, but hey, we are all human)Here are some tips to bring some fresh air in your pumps. Manchester United? This is directly addressed to you!
Prepare a Foot powder with the following ingredients:
110g of Cornflour
55g of Bicarbonate of soda
10 drops of cypress Essential oil
10 drops of Lavender essential oil
3 drops of Patchouli Essential oil

Mix the cornflour and the bicarbonate of soda together. Put the essential oils drop by drop into the powder and mix it with your clean finger or clean fork. Store in a container and let the powder sit for one week. Then you can use it to dust your feet twice daily. This particular blend will fight odour causing bacteria while the corn flour and bicarbonate of Soda will absorb perspiration.

As an alternative you can put a leaf of Sage in your ''it makes my feet smelly'' shoes.

Do you have silk sock my darling? Huh no it's just my feet.

Put 60g of cocoa butter in a small sauce pan and warm at low temperature until it melts. Remove from the heat and add 10 drops of Lemon Essential oil and 5 drops of Patchouli essential oil and store into a small Jar. Massage the cream into your feet each night. You can put on socks to maximize absorption and avoid staining your bedsheets.

For a Pedi relax here is the ideal procedure

1- Soak your feet 10-15 mins ( you can add some marbles for an auto-massage)
2- Use a foot rasp or pumice stone to remove hard skin
3- Scrub the feet (dont forget the ankles)
4- Apply a rich mask ( shit i need to give you a recipe for that! coming in a Sec)
5- File and buff
6- Take care of the Cuticles ( cuticle oil in my second post)
7- Apply the foot cream
8- Remove all traces of oil from the nails
9- Apply a nail polish ( anyone tried the spraying of oil thing?)
10- Look at those happy toes and clap your hands on your mouth in total disbelief, love and tenderness.
11- Put a sign on your forehead that he or she who will step on your feet before the nail polish is dry will get in on the cheek!

Ok here is a mask before i forget
You will need:
2 spoons of Green Clay
5 drops of lavender Essential oil
5 drops of Geranium Essential oil
15 drops of avocado oil
A nice cup of tea, coffee ( or a cocktail)
mix the Green clay with enough warm water to get a creamy paste and add the essential oils and Avocado oil. Then put the mask on your feet, avoid under the nails though. have your drink and relax 15 minutes. Take the mask off with warm water. Voila !
I personally love the Dermaphuzion Colloidal Silt Mask. It's really moisturizing. So if you are not into making all these stuff, get that one.

Here we go ladies and gentlemen that's it for today. Next week were gonna talk about Luuuuuuuurve. i'm not saying anything but there's gonna be some white magic witchcrafty things involved too. whooooo

Don't forget to ''like'' if you liked and share if you very liked!

Make your own nail and hand product

Do you remember the very first time you held your first love hand? Wasn't it strange. For me it was in the cinema, we went to see Jumanji! Remember Jumanji? I so knew it was going to be the day i'd hold his hand in the cinema, just like in the movies so i did a milk soak, yeah man, even back then it made sense to me because i saw an old movie where Cleopatra was having a milk bath to have great skin so i thought yeah, i'll do that! It was very soft indeed but i was so nervous that my hand was sweating and stuff so all he could feel was damp skin! Not too cool come to think of that now.
OK, I think Anyway is the word we are all looking for. But just out of interest, did anyone else puked after the first kiss? Just out of interest of course, not that i did. Oh no, not even almost puked in his mouth! Anyway...

Tip number one:
Always have nail polish on, yes, for the truth of the truthfulness You know this thing when you say, i'm gonna let my nails breath? Bullcrap, nails are just dead keratinized cells! what it needs though is moisture. It will tend to break without moisture if you are leaving it nude, make sure it has enough moisture for healthy and strong nails.

Oil soak for nails
To give your nails a helpful hand (haha i know it's a lousy line but i couldn't resist)
Prepare a soak of warm olive oil with a few drops of lemon essential oil and leave each hand to soak for 10 mins. It's extremely relaxing and it will leave your nails all strong, healthy and shiny.

Byebye yellow
The one thing most women do is apply color directly on the nails without even applying a base. Bad, very bad, specially the metallic finish that really dries the nails. My favorite base is Jessica. Such a shame they don't have it here. It's with rice oil and stuff.
I used to brush my nails with whitening toothpaste and it actually worked very well. But here is a more natural recipe
Mix 30 ml of fresh lemon juice in to 30 ml of orange flower water ( you can easily find that in pharmacies and even supermarket. I can't remember the brand but i know it's in a blue bottle. Keep the mixture in a clean bottle and once a day, take some of the mixture in a cotton pad and sweep over nails.
To get rid of this yellow layer you can also buff them. I kind of like Seacret buffer although their silk story is a bit over the top and a bit show off, the bottom line is that, the result is great. But if you do not Have Rs2500, you can buy single buffers everywhere. I used to sit in front of the telly and buff my nails until i went ouch coz i warmed the buffer too much from the compulsive rubbing.

Yuk cuticles
One thing i really messed up with is my cuticles, i am slave for them now coz i started to cut them and now i have to do it every time. When you have a nice nail polish it's always so disgraceful having dry and thick cuticles. So if you want to treat them instead of cutting them here is a recipe

combine the following ingredients in a small bottle and massage a few drops into your nails every night before going to bed.
30ml of Jojoba essential oil (supermarket)
2 400-IU capsules of vitamin E oil (Pharmacy)
5 drops of essential oil
5 drops of Frankinsence oil

This is one of my favorite recipe from Laurel Vukovic.

Another of her great recipe is the hand mask

Mix 1 teaspoon of almond oil + 1 teaspoon of honey + 2 drops of lavender. Massage into the hands and let it set for 15 mins then rinse with warm water.

For a flawless nail polish
Rule number One- Always eliminate all traces of oil, cream or moisture from the nails before applying nail polish.
Rule number two- always, always apply a base coat before color.
Rule number three- Do not irrigate the cuticles with polish or it will chip quickly.
Rule number Four- never apply your Nail polish outside in the sun or blow on them after or dry them by the fan, it will create air bubbles and will chip quickly.
Rule number five- if you have a Polish you like, give it some love, clean the bottle after use. if you are struggling to open, it means you've messed up. always clean your mess. And never mix with acetone.
Rule Number six- hmmm let me think, oh no that's not a rule but a tip

Tip number 1: if you are like me and do your nail every Sunday in front of the telly for and expect it to look good the whole week. Buff them before apply the nail polish. But only with the sandy surface, don't make them shiny. Polish won't ''grab'' a shiny surface. i Love Nail station polishes, their colors are very funky and easy to apply. Plus i had the same bottle of 3 years now and the polish is still great. Didn't dry up or anything

Tip number 2: Spray your nails with oil after polish application, yes oil right after. It will make them dry super fast. Or if you're too chicken to try that and think i'm talking none sense, open the tap and let cold water run on your hands
down to the nails. But honestly, oil is the best.

God that's a long post so let's keep feet for next week kay?
Hope you liked it and will try it... Feel free to share

Intro

Hey there i'm back :-)
Kitty in London blog was quite fun but i'm back in Mauritius now, my family and friends already have a hard time with me and my status updates on Facebook so i didn't want to add up by creating a blog kitty in Mauritius. My mum was quite pissed off last time when i posted ''haha my mum said Cucchi instead of Gucci'' and everyone kept taking the piss out of her after. So I thought hmmm i like to write, i like to share things i do or know so what could it be... Oh eureka, natural recipes! Yeah i can do that! I have studied that and paid quite big money for those studies, but because i got injured once i can't practice anymore as my right shoulder is wrecked, so why not at least share what i've learn!

I'm a kind of hippie deeeeep down and although i work for a cosmaceutical company and do loooove having all kind of hair products, face creams, lip balms, Scrubs i also enjoy spending a Saturday evening or a quiet Sunday making my little creams and potions and spending Hours taking care of myself. Oh shut up i'm not superficial, i do take care of my inner self so why not of my body. If my body goes all yucky where is my inner self gonna go huh?

Ok let's make this super duper clear, this is not a blog that will go 'oh cosmetics are evil, chemical products, paraben Ewaterver waterver are gonna kill you blablabla'' Sometimes nature can't do what a guy in a white overall can do. Besides, you have to be very careful with natural stuff you know so don't mess up too much. But i think that just for the fuck of it, just because it's FUN, i like doing my own products. One thing i completely disagree with is products that are tested on animals. How can you test a face cream on a rat, honestly. I remember a teacher at primary school who used to put my knickers down in front of the whole class and slap me until my bum had ''all the colors of the rainbow'' as he said. He looked like a big fat ugly nasty rat, and as his face looked like a rotten pumpkin so i don't think he used face creams so i can't see the logic of testing products on rats!

I'll try and post well before the week-end so you have time to go get your ingredients if you want to try any of recipes.

First Post, will be on body scrubs, oh yeah baby, that's gonna be good. I love a good scrub for a renewed soft skin!

Make your own Body Scrub

Ok, why do you need a scrub? well not only it feels good, but it leaves your skin all soft and silky. You know how your skin goes all dry and greyish in the winter, well you wanna get rid of those dead skin cells because it really isn't pretty.
Scrubs are also great to boost circulation, so if you have a slow circulation, cellulite or water retention, that's great for you.
One scrub a month is great.

So what you need is
-30 ml of Oil, either avocado, wheatgerm, olive oil or even cheap almond oil. Almond oil is at about Rs60 rupees in pharmacies so it's the cheapest. I take olive oil from the kitchen. Ok ok don't go get your bottle of rani oil chicks, honestly!

- Then you can do your own feel good oil by adding a few drops of essential oil. I have given you a blend below for a better skin and also to relax you. Essential oils are extremely powerful so if you are going freestyle and using your own blend, PLEASE check for contra-indication. Do not be naive and go oh it's natural so it's ok ( i was doing my coolio voice there) Essential oils if used wrongly can be pretty hazardous. Here is the blend below and completely at the bottom of this post i have put the contra indications. Do not use them if you have one of the listed contra-indication.

Here is my blend for 30 ml of oil add
* 1 drop of fennel
* 3 drops of geranium
* 2 drops of grapefruit
Never shake the mixture, simply stir with your finger of with a clean spoon.

- Then you need a handful of salt. You can use sugar as well but mind the ants! You can add a few mint leaves to it for circulation. You'll enjoy the tingly feeling of mint. Or Lavender flowers, oh i love the smell of lavender. You can easily get lavender at Espace Maison et Jardin, they are at Rs150 or something.

That's it, we have everything to make our super sexy Scrub! The piss take with us human being is that we can't reach our backs so if you wanna get it right, it might be a good idea to get somebody else to do it. Yeah i know it sucks but unless you are elastic man or have super long and flexible arms, you won't be able to do it yourself. It might get messy as well so stand on an old towel so you can shake the excess of salt in the bin easily after. You don't want to go clean the bathroom after a pampering moment do you?

So first you will apply the oil, go bit by bit, start with one leg, apply the oil, then take the salt in your hands and use circular movement to exfoliate. Gentle movements, take it easy, no need to be harsh, the salt will sting if you scratch yourself, just use medium pressure. Scrub those dry knees and spend maybe a bit more time on thighs if you have cellulite. Do not forget the ankles and the sole of the feet! Then you go for the other leg and the rest of the body. But stop, not the face!! No salt is way to coarse for the face. When you've finished take a nice shower to remove the salt just water yeah, no shower gel or soap because you want to leave a film of oil. It will feel great tomorrow!

If you want a scrub for the face you can grind almond and oats and mix it in some honey, one table spoon of honey is enough. Again in slow circular movements scrub the face, specially in the nose and chin where you might have clogged pores and black heads. Then you rinse off with a splash of cold water.

Here we go we've got our first recipe, it's an easy one just to get novices going. Plus at the date i'm posting that i don't want you to go buy expensive ingredients. Salt you can get in your kitchen, oil as well! Those two will be fine, you don't have to get essential oils now.

I know it is not relevant, but listening to Nina Simone ''My baby Just cares for me'' while doing your scrub is really fun :-)

Caution
Please check for contra-indication for the blend i've given you. If you have one of those symptoms do not use the essential oil. It's ok to use the oil alone without essential oils.

Geranium may cause irritation on sensitive skin and contra-indicated during pregnancy

Grapefruit- do not go in direct sunlight 12-24 hours after using grapefruit essential oil

Fennel- Avoid during pregnancy, alcoholism, Epilepsy and when having liver problems.

Some people will try to sell you ''perfumes'' or ''essence'' and tell you it's ok, its the same. Please slap them for me it needs to be 100% essential oils otherwise it will cause skin irritation. Once a shop assistant tried to sell me those little oil that you put in burners and she told me it was ok to use on the skin! I went completely off my nuts!

Enjoy and let me know how it went and share it if you like it...
